Mojca
Zlobko Vajgl graduated from the Music Academy in Ljubljana in 1991. She
was first engaged as the solo harpist of the orchestra of the Slovene
National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, but later dedicated all her
talent entirely to solo and chamber music. She completed her postgraduate
harp studies at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg.
Mojca Zlobko soon became an established concert soloist with a vast and
diverse repertoire of chamber music, and inspired several Slovene composers
to create their works for harp solo, as well as duets with various instruments,
which she often performs, with great success, at her concerts at home
and abroad. As a soloist, she has given many performances with numerous
renowned ensembles, including the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra, the Stockholm
Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of the Hamburg Philharmonic,
Leipzig string Quartet, Kiev National chamber orchestra, Ars Amata Zürich, Orchestre di Padova e del Veneto, the Belgrade Philharmonic,
Sarajevo Philharmonic orchestra and the Croatian Chamber Orchestra from Zagreb. It is no different with
the chamber orchestra Wiener Concert Verein, with whom the she began to
cooperate between the years 2000-2002. During that period, she lived and
worked in the Austrian capital, where she also recorded one of her CDs
for the Japanese record label Camerata Tokyo, namely "Music for flute
and harp" with the Vienna Philharmonic first flutist dr.Dieter Flury.
Her audience at home often saw her performing as a soloist with the Slovenian
Philharmonic and the RTV Slovenia Symphonic Orchestra.
Being a master of chamber music, she is often a part of such an ensemble,
and her performances, both solo and with different orchestras, have been
recorded in several radio and TV shows. Mojca Zlobko Vajgl has till now
also released six solo CDs. Her diverse repertoire covers everything from
baroque to classical and contemporary music, as well as the works of modern-day
composers (Takemitsu, Globokar, Eben, Gubaidulina …). The cooperation
with Slovene composers gave birth to some very original works for the
harp, dedicated to Mojca Zlobko Vajgl and created by Primož Ramovš, Ivo
Petriæ, Uroš Krek, Jani Golob, Aldo Kumar, Aleš Strajnar and Milko Lazar.
Music has led this outstanding artist all over Europe - she was a guest
performer in Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria,
Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia
and Montenegro and Canada. She also appeared at the music festivals in
Budapest, Dubrovnik, Schleswig-Holstein, Skopje, Riga, Klagenfurt, Split
and Ljubljana.
Between 2002 and 2004, she lived in Berlin, where she worked with the
Mendelssohn Players ensemble and the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra.
Mojca Zlobko Vajgl is a professor at the Music Academy in Ljubljana.
